The struggle of finding community — does anyone else feel isolated in this journey?

Does anyone else feel like they’re navigating this journey alone? Many of us know that feeling of isolation all too well. Whether it’s the weight of being part of the Tumal community or just trying to find our place in a world that often overlooks our experiences, it can be tough to feel connected.
One thing that really helped me was reaching out to others who share this identity. I found someone in my area who was also navigating similar challenges, and we started meeting up regularly. Just having someone to talk to who truly gets it made a world of difference. We share our struggles, celebrate our small wins, and it feels like a weight has been lifted. If you haven’t already, consider finding someone nearby who understands — it can really change your perspective.
Another approach that some of us try is participating in local meetups or online groups. I know it can feel intimidating to put yourself out there, especially when vulnerability is already so present in our lives. But many of us have discovered that when we share our stories, we often find others who resonate with our experiences. The connection can be a powerful reminder that we’re not alone in this.
It’s also important to acknowledge that the feelings of isolation can ebb and flow. There are days when it feels particularly heavy, and reaching out might seem like too much. On those days, I remind myself that it’s okay to take a step back and recharge. Many in our community understand that balance — we’re all navigating this journey in our own ways.
So, are you feeling isolated in your journey? What has helped you connect with others who understand? Sometimes just one real conversation can change everything. Would love to hear your experiences.
