The Invisible Scar of Bullying.

🌱 Belong Community Resource
Bullying has always been a serious problem which affects millions of people worldwide. Many people think bullying ends after the school life, yeah the bullying may end but the effect often last much longer as a trauma. Physical wounds can heal in couple of weeks but the emotional wounds stays with the person for much longer period. These emotional wounds are the scars which are invisible often called as invisible scars of bullying. There are various types of bullying and it can happen in many ways. Some people are bullied through insults, teasing, threats or maybe exclusion from the friend group. While others may face cyberbullying in todays modern era. The words of bullying may not leave physical mark but it can affect a person mentally and emotionally. It can weaken and hurt the person too. The victims of bullying often feel lonely and isolated. They are even ashamed of themself and afraid to open up to someone new because of their traumatising past. These people lose confidence overtime and starts questioning themself and the negative thoughts starts developing in their mind. Bullying can affect a person's mental health too. Many people who have been bullied have had experienced anxiety, depression and sever stress too. Some of them starts distancing themself and are afraid to talk in public or even make new friends because of the fear of being judged. These habits and the painful memories often affects the person's adulthood and also ruin their relationship, education and the future. The survivors often use another approach too. They become silent and choose not to speak at all. They even hide their experiences because of the fear or being judged or laughed at. These people often tends to suffer alone instead of getting support. This is the reason it is important for schools, families and environment to create a safe environment where people are loved and respected. However, healing is still possible. Support from family, friends and even teachers matters alot in this case. If there is right guidance and support, these people starts gaining their lost confidence back and they start healing which leads to a happy and trauma free life for them. Therefore, bullying often leaves an invisible scars that can affect a person's emotional well being. However these scars may not be visible, but they are real and painful. Have you guys even been through the same? In my case, I've always been a support for the bullying survivors.
