How do you navigate relationships with friends who are sure of their identities while you're still questioning?

Has anyone else felt like they’re on a different wavelength from friends who are so sure of their identities? It can be really tough when you’re still figuring things out while they seem to have it all mapped out. We know how isolating that can feel, especially when everyone around you is confident in their identities.
One thing many of us have found helpful is to create space for open conversations. It can feel scary to share where you’re at, but even saying something like, “I’m still exploring my identity, and it feels complicated” can lead to deeper understanding. You might be surprised by how many of your friends are willing to listen and support you. We’ve found that just talking about our different journeys can actually strengthen our friendships.
Another approach is to seek out connections within our community. Finding someone else who’s also questioning can provide a safe space to share experiences and feelings. I remember when I started talking with someone who was navigating similar doubts, and it made such a difference. We would meet up regularly and just talk about what we were feeling, and it was comforting to know I wasn’t alone in this.
It’s also important to remember that your questioning is valid, even if it feels messy. Many of us experience moments of doubt or frustration when we compare ourselves to friends who have found their identities. It’s okay to take your time. Embracing that uncertainty can be part of the journey. We can learn from each other’s experiences, even if they look different.
Anyone else grappling with this? It would be great to hear what’s been helpful for you, or if you’ve found ways to connect with friends during your questioning journey.
