Navigating the emotional rollercoaster of failed cycles and how it affects my mental health

🌱 Belong Community Resource
Hey everyone, Isn’t it wild how one moment you can feel hopeful, and the next you’re grappling with another failed cycle? Many of us know that emotional rollercoaster all too well. It's like being on a ride that never seems to stop, with the ups of anticipation and the downs of disappointment. One thing that’s helped me navigate through these waves is acknowledging that it’s okay to feel all the feelings. When a cycle doesn’t go as planned, it’s totally normal to feel a mix of anger, grief, and even guilt. I’ve found that allowing myself to really sit with those emotions, rather than pushing them away, can be incredibly liberating. Another approach some of us try is to find a little community within our larger circle. I connected with a few others who are also on this IVF journey, and just having someone to text when things feel heavy has made a world of difference. One of them suggested setting up regular check-ins, and those chats became a safe space to vent, cry, or even laugh about the absurdities of it all. Knowing someone else truly understands the heartache and hope we’re navigating has been a game changer. And let’s not forget the little things that help ground us during these tough times. Journaling has been a go-to for many of us. Putting pen to paper can feel cathartic, especially when we’re feeling overwhelmed. It gives us a chance to track not just our physical journey, but also the emotional ups and downs. Plus, it helps to look back on those entries and see how far we’ve come. Anyone else feeling this emotional rollercoaster right now? It’s tough, but sometimes just one real conversation with someone who gets it changes everything. Would love to hear what’s been helping you all!
